Parent letter

The majority of work will be completed in class except for the spelling and vocabulary worksheets.  On Wednesday they will be given their spelling worksheet packet for the following week.  The spelling worksheet will be due on Thursday (they will have in class on Wednesday to start it).  The spelling words written 5 times each and the 20 vocabulary words which they will write the definition and a sentence with the vocabulary word will be due on Wednesday.  If they fail to turn the words and definitions in on time I will take 25 points off for each day and on Friday they will receive a zero if they have not turned it in by then.  On Wednesday they will take a vocabulary test and a spelling test.  I will give the students one copy of their spelling worksheets if they lose it and need another copy it will cost them .50.

Any paper without a name will be torn up and a zero will be recorded for their grade.

A student with an absence will be permitted to make up their work within a reasonable time frame.  This time frame will be determined by the teacher/principal.

It is your child’s responsibility to get their make-up work and turn it back in.

Also I place orders from Scholastic books if your child wants to order they can bring me cash or check made out to Scholastic Book Club or you can go online to https://orders.scholastic.com/HXNV and place a credit card order.  The students will receive Scholastic Book order flyers once a month and I try to place the orders within the first week of the month.
